What is a Sneak Attack?
It's a way to support independant artisans who are trying to sell their wares online. Two days a week at an appointed time, an Etsy shop with few or no sales is announced on this site. As many people as possible then buy items from that shop, resulting in a frenzy of surprise business to the unsuspecting shop! To the upper right is the current Sneak Attack schedule. To participate, show up on this site at or soon after the time of the next attack and you'll see the chosen shop name in the box above. Then go to that shop and purchase an item, making sure to include the words "Sneak Attack" in the "message to seller". It's also fun to tune into the current thread on Etsy to talk about it with other "attackers".

An origami “bouquet” of purple flowers, packaged in a blue 5.1 x 5.1cm / 2in x 2in chiyogami design box featuring lucky bellflowers. The flowers in the bouquet are traditionally known as “irises/ayame”, however they do have 4 petals instead of 3 main ones and so they are also known as “lilies”. The flowers have been folded using patterned paper imported from Japan.

I’m a bit of a magpie when it comes to pretty bits of paper and soft, quality yarn. I prefer to keep them instead and turn them – fold by fold or stitch by stitch – into animals, flowers and ornaments.

October 13th: HELP! If You Are Scheduled to Donate Please Read This!
We have had a little problem with our email account and we need your help! Apparently over the weekend our Gmail account had a ‘hiccup’ causing several saved emails to be irretrievably deleted. Of course, this included the emails we had received from those of you that were scheduled to donate to the Handmade Giveaway through the rest of this year. This leaves us with an open schedule and no way to contact those who were on it.
If you have received a confirmation email with a date for your donation to be posted as the Handmade Giveaway we need to hear from you! Please send an email to handmadegiveaway@gmail.com with ‘I am scheduled’ in the subject line and provide us with your information again. You will receive a confirmation email to let you know that you are rescheduled.
